Perfect Puppy Program
Our Puppy Program is designed to accommodate all the new puppy additions to your family. We aim to have your puppy grow into a confident dog who can go on to do great things! This class gives you the foundation skills needed to head off into the world, with a pup that can walk nicely on lead and has a solid recall. With our unique program, we also explore in depth aspects about how puppies learn, training methods and techniques we use, what enrichment is and gives you as an owner plenty of time to learn practical exercises with detailed handouts. Our classes are kept small for a more intimate approach and a safe and secure environment for your new puppy to learn in and so we can set you up to succeed!
Private Consultations
These sessions involve a tailored approach and an intimate understanding of your dogs individual history, requirements and breed specifics. We combine your needs and training goals with the natural attributes of your dog and your family to achieve the desired outcomes. These sessions are ideal for target specific training such as recall, socialisation, lead walking skills or any problems you may be having with your dog. We are here to help.
Canine Behaviour Consulting
To continue our dedication to you and your poochies, we will continue to provide improving services in line with latest in research. This service is offered through North West Veterinary Clinic as part of our ongoing commitment to unique and holistic approaches. To further our knowledge, we have commenced a new course to become a Nationally Recognised and Certified, Canine Behavioural Consultant and will be one of the first on our coast to hold this certification.
Holistic Grooming
Here at A Bark Above we know how it feels when your dog gets put into the spicy category by groomers. So, we are here to make a difference in the way your dog feels, acts and remembers our session. We offer one on one time for your booking and work with a reward based and force free approach, giving your dog a choice. We also take breaks, allowing the dog to sniff and explore to release the happy and calming hormones into the dog’s system, allowing for a positive experience through positive connections!

Not only do we offer physical services, but we also have a fabulous range of all things relating to dogs, accessories and needs. From treats and long-lasting chews, toys and enrichment items, to leads, collars and harnesses we are fully prepped to set you up for your new addition! Maybe even an outfit update for your growing pooch or just to spoil them, we know we will have something for you! We are thrilled to announce our special partnership with Institute of Modern Dog Trainers again and to bring you the graded dog training class programs for 2025!
Whether you're a beginner or looking to take your training to the next level, these graded classes offer a structured, positive, and rewarding approach to building a stronger bond with your dog. From foundations and basics to advanced skills, there's something for every pup and pawrent!
Each class has a clear set of goals, and your dog will be assessed as they progress. It’s a great way to track your success and keep motivated as you work towards the full 6 certification levels! Now while the word assessment sounds quite daunting, our positive, kind and supportive approach to our training makes it a comfortable and exciting experience!
Progressing Class Programs
These courses are designed to improve the foundation skills that were learnt in a Puppy Program. We work on cue strengthening, lead walking routines, distraction work and getting our dogs working alongside each other harmoniously. These programs are suited to dogs that haven’t been to any prior training with us as we work on improving all skills they already have! We also introduce your dogs to our Fun Park for extra activity and training opportunities but most importantly we train, we have fun, we socialise and work alongside other superstar dog parents. There are also classes tailored directly for Loose Lead Walking and Recall options too!
