It’s a Cue not a Command

In this day and age with science backed studies, positive methods and industry training leaders in the dog world, the word “command” has been recommended and replaced with the term “cue”!

Despite modern research, the term “command” is still used even though it’s an incorrect word in a force free training environment. Much the same as we need to transition from the word “obedience” to “skills”

We are striving to lead the way in the positive reinforcement world and wanted to highlight the importance of changing mindset when it comes to our dogs listening and preforming skills! Changing the words we use as trainers has a huge impact on client understanding and then the successful partnerships between families and the poochies!

We have always worked on debunking that myth that our dogs MUST obey us… but we want to really move forward to highlight that if you’re not being set up for success, this mindset can fail and things can not turn out quite right..

Yes, we want to support our new puppies and dogs to fit into our lives, and teach them all the necessary things. But we do that with kindness, love, patience and rewards! That’s exactly how we teach things here at HQ!

Dogs don’t come pre-programmed when they arrive in our homes so through gentle guidance and reward-based training, we achieve our goals for co-habitation and a fulfilling lifestyle with a perfect companion. While the dog training world isn’t always rainbows and butterflies, you can bet on it that we sure as heck are working towards that, with our innovative approach to successful set ups!

Our new Perfect Puppy Program opened up a greater opportunity for your success and to improve your understanding of many elements with your puppies, and their brains. Adrian and I are very excited about this and are extra pumped to go into a full dog-nerd level with our full class of superstars!
